LGBTİ+ hotline

Increasing phobic discourse and behaviors on the streets and in politics turn into isolation and enmity in the lives of LGBTI+ individuals. Launched on July 1, 2024, Bakad LGBTI+ Hotline offers peer counseling and support to say “You are Neither Alone, Nor Wrong” against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

What does the Support Hotline do?

The hotline is a space where questions and problems about sexual orientation and gender identity can be shared. Clients who call the hotline receive peer counseling from bakad volunteers who have received extensive training. Some of the areas that our hotline serves are as follows:

  • discrimination
  • coming out of the closet
  • peer bullying
  • family relationships
  • dating violence
  • hate crimes based on sexual identity
  • sexual health and sexually transmitted infections
  • gender reassignment process
  • substance addiction
  • tenant – landlord relations

How can I reach the hotline?

The bakad LGBTİ+ Hotline is anonymous. We are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays between 10.00-16.00 on the telephone at no charge other than the caller’s own tariff. The hotline can be reached at 0 (850) 888 2145.
